AMT Theater won another award, we are on FIRE!
We won the NEW YORK STATE SENATE 2024 EMPIRE AWARD in recognition of outstanding contributions and dedication to the growth, prosperity and betterment of their community and New York State. Our Producing Director, Tamara Flannagan accepted the award from Senator Brad Holyman-Sigal last week. Our small and mighty theater is here to serve you and bring you amazing performing arts productions. It is wonderful to be recognized for our efforts.

I am sure you know that we share our building with the One Community Church and they organised a fantastic Halloween Street Party. They graciously invited us to participate and we jumped at the chance - we are theater people - ANY EXCUSE TO DRESS UP! Thank you One Co for creating a magical afternoon experience for everyone in the neighbourhood, we certainly enjoyed ourselves and we got to chat to lots of people about everything AMT Theater and the wonderful events we have coming up, but mostly, we enjoyed dressing up and eating candy ;)
We have a super busy week ahead of us, jam packed with theater, performers and film! First up we have Lost and Found opening tonight. LOST AND FOUND takes place in a laundromat in Brooklyn, New York during one of the largest blackouts in US history on August 14th, 2003. With no electricity coming back anytime soon, strangers LOST and FOUND stick together during this time of darkness and uncertainty. Both pass the time through drinking, games, and folding laundry which ultimately leads them to form a connection and reveal their own secrets and pasts, one they have more in common than they think.
We are so happy to be working with Angelica again, this beautiful play was part of our New Work Development Series in 2023 and there is nothing better than supporting new work from page to stage. There are still tickets available, so make sure you see this!
Youthful excitement is in the air because 11 kids from Guadalajara, Mexico, are arriving tomorrow for 5 days in the Big Apple for theater, theater and more theater! It's time for our 3rd NYC Experience: Broadway without Borders collaboration with IDEA Guadalajara! It's going to be a fantastic time of learning and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
