FILM FESTIVAL FUN

The first AMT International Film Festival was a success! 3 days, 65 films and loads of fun was had by all. Congratulations to Sharon Osowski and Pete Dorton for realising this dream and making it such a great festival. We showcased some truly beautiful new independent films and met some wonderful people, the AMT Theater community has grown so much!

We opened the festival with a bang on Friday November 8th!

We closed the night at Hold Fast with many a delicious drink and lots of new friend making. This didn't stop us from being awake bright and early for our full Saturday program which was an excellent collection of shorts.

Obao hosted us for Saturday night and I cannot recommend their hot sake enough, trust me, it warms you up and makes you happy. Sunday rolled around and I for one was sad to think it was all coming to an end. Our line up was gorgeous and really made me think about how much we need to care for each other, everyone is struggling in some way, so be kind and gentle as often as you can.

Our Awards ceremony was held at Backstage Tavern and we had a wonderful time celebrating all the talented film makers! Well done to everyone, it takes guts and courage to realise a dream and all of you did that and you shared them with us, we are grateful and loved being a part of the journey.
