The AMT Theater team is brimming with pride at being voted BEST VENUE in Hell's Kitchen at the W42ST Best of 2024 Awards last week. We knew in our hearts we were the best, but it feels good to get the external validation and to know that all of our hard work is being recognised and that we are becoming a home for world class entertainment here in the heart of New York City.
It has been a journey to get here and we had some stiff competition, Birdland Jazz Club, The Laurie Beechman Theater and The Green Room 42, but the people had their say and we couldn't be happier. THANK YOU to everyone who voted for us and have supported us over the past 2 years, we will continue to be a home for excellent theater and entertainment. Also, thank you to the W42ST team for hosting a wonderful night that brought everyone together to celebrate all the excellence in our neighbourhood. We so enjoy reading your daily newsletter, may you continue to go from strength to strength.
The Awards evening was held at the Intrepid Museum, a place I love visiting and if you have yet to get on board then do yourselves a favour and head on over! After the ceremony was over and we were ambling out I decided to walk around the Intrepid a little longer because it was the last of the free summer Friday series and Tamara joined me, what a great time we had taking our shiny new BEST VENUE award around the Intrepid. We showed it all the remarkable fighter planes and the stunning view from the top deck.
Make sure you don't miss The Witness Room on here at AMT until October 6th. It is a gripping drama about what happens behind the blue line...those ethical grey areas between morally and legally what is right and what is just. Every audience member who has left the show has said how fantastic it is, so this is one not to pass by.
So much has changed since the last blog post was published, as a team we have all been dealing with personal upheaval as well as trying to stay focused on keeping this beautiful theater shining brightly. I think winning BEST VENUE was all the more poignant because our team is a family and we have turned up night after night to open the house and welcome everyone no matter what is going on behind the scenes. Some staff members have had to step in more while others require some TLC and this is okay because it is a pendulum and we know that everyone needs love and support. From the depths of my heart, thank you to everyone for being so kind and loving. We will keep moving onwards and upwards!
