AMT Theater is the brainchild of Producer Al Tapper ("Broadway: The Golden Age") and Artistic Director Tony Sportiello. The goal is to create a regional theater right in the heart of Manhattan's theater district; creating new shows and new musicals, doing children's theater, cabaret, festivals, readings, film and more. It is a haven for actors, writers, directors, technicians, stagehands and audiences, as we seek to create exciting new work and become an integral piece of the Broadway community. Join Stephanie Trudeau and AMT Theater in supporting a project that entertains, educates and inspires people through the arts.
AMT Theater in partnership with Teatro Maria Teresa will present a bilingual production of the musical play Becoming Chavela for a three-
week cultural exchange this June in Guadalajara, Mexico.

This musical play about legendary Mexican singer Chavela
Vargas highlights immediate and impactful topics of gender
issues, immigration and Mexican culture. Chavela’s story reaches
across cultures and generations to tell of a woman who defied
conventions by singing men-only music and was audacious in her
determination to be heard and be seen; to become an artist.
We have been fundraising, but we still need $15,000. All
donations are welcome and a donation of $500 or more makes
